Measures Against Forum Spam
Please read this carefully if you would like to participate in the support forum!
The spam postings in the support forum have reached an inacceptable level. In November 2006 we were at about 20 abusive postings per day - with steeply increasing tendency. I simply don't have the time to go through the forum twice a day and manually delete all spam postings and related user accounts.
I have decided to adopt a restrictive procedure for accepting new users in this forum:
- Fill in the normal phpbb registration form
- When you click submit, a registration request is sent to me. New user accounts have to be specifically activated by myself.
- Important: After submitting the registration form, send an email to info@giantdisc.org and explain in one sentence why you would like to use this forum. Please include your forum user name in this email.
I am very sorry for all the inconvenieces this may cause for new users. We don't want to exclude you from this forum. If you are serious, you are highly welcome here. I hope these measures help us providing a sustainable and useful service for all of us.
